The Spring season, late March through the end of May has probably the best walleye fishing in the world! Walleyes from 5 to 9 pounds are very common, with several reaching 11 and 12 pounds. For one of these trips, you have to book EARLY!
June begins a number of exciting trips onto Lake Erie trolling for walleyes or casting for smallmouth bass. These fish are the best eating walleyes of the year, averaging 2 to 4 pounds. Although not as large as the spring run fish, a day of reeling in 25 to 40 fish is common and a lot of fun.
Smallmouth bass are so plentiful in Lake Erie, get ready to give this lake the title "Smallmouth Capitol of the World!" Whether fishing for walleye or smallmouth bass, these are great trips for the angling sportsman, family, and kids!
In July and August, the fishing is great in the Central Basin of Lake Erie. Walleyes are fewer in number but average 6 pounds. The real treat to this fishery is the large number of steelhead that we catch. Now there's a fish that has a way of showing anglers that they have no intention of getting in the boat - Great fighters! Watch, as they break water so often, they seem to spend as much time above the water as they do in it! This is a fishing trip not to be missed!
September through November means perch fishing - and lots of 'em! Lake Erie perch are some of the best eating fish anywhere. With large perch limits available, get ready to catch a lot of fish. Don't forget to bring the family for this one!
